95 Days - And the winner is...
Dean,
I couldn't stop the tears from welling up in my eyes when I opened the e-mail from Jim Anderson this morning announcing that you had won the ESPY Award. Happy, excited, proud doesn't even begin to express how I feel about you finally being recognized for all that you do and all that you are. On Sunday, after logging a good 50 miles this weekend as part of our ultra training, my boyfriend and I plan to sit down and watch you win, reconfirming that we do in fact have a place in this world. That place, as a wise man once told me, is among those who have the courage to try. Your courage has now shown the world that limits are merely suggestions and anything is possible if we turn our backs on fear and do one simple act - believe.
Summer

Hi - I found your Blog via Chad's. I was just idly surfing the net (procrastinating finishing the tidying of my bedroom!), and scanned Chad's list of Blogs he reads. I remembered odd posts he wrote mentioning a Summer who ran, and guessed that the link to Summer Wesson was the same Summer who'd run with him.
I read posts going back to about March/April, and wow. Good luck with all your training, I think it's incredible that you can do all this, and wonderful that you have Brian (I'm guessing boyfriend, from the odd mentions of a new relationship, etc.) who not only gets what you do, but joins you.
I have 4 friends who are into running, all met online. Two have done marathons (one even qualified for Boston on her first time), and the other two have done half marathons, and are training for full ones (one started, one about to). Do you mind if I pass on the URL for your Blog to them? I think they'd get a lot of encouragement from reading about your training and races. I know one of them has read Dean's book :-)
Good luck with your training!
